Agnes Tabu is 15 years old and attends school. An IDP from Senema, she and her parents relocated to Udabi Payam Lujulo County. Agnes moved to Udabi center due to severe insecurity in her residential area, which has affected her study process. Currently, she is in primary two, which as she told us is inappropriate to her age as a 15-year-old girl.
Tabu's responsibilities are many. She wakes up early in the morning, sweeps the compound, and walks long distances through the busy roads to fetch water. The place Agnes collects water is not safe, and the water source is dirty, as shown in the photo. Diseases like typhoid, malaria, and scurvy often affect people in her village.
With her beautiful smile, she shows how happy she is that the repair crew came to Lujulo County to repair and restore clean water. Agnes will no longer have to walk long distances to fetch water every day. She sends many thanks to the supporters of Water Is Basic for helping to provide clean water to her community.
