Give Water Now

Women and Water are Worth It!

The holidays will be quite different this year for all of us, especially for our friends in the Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan, for whom shelter in place has been devastating.

It’s been tough for Anasthasie too, but now she and her husband, Makorovera, have renewed hope.

Anasthasie, a 28-year-old mother of 6 children, was rising at 3:00 am every day to gather water. Our work stops this kind of craziness for women.

Anasthasie

Anasthasie

She fell in love and simply wanted to start a family, grow crops, and raise children that flourish. What she didn’t sign up for was to drag her tired young body out of bed just to search for water at 3:00 am every day. Seven days a week.

When the water committee heard her husband’s cries, they immediately began work on rain catchment system #58. It takes less than a week to build a 10,000-liter concrete tank that will hold enough water for ten households. Anasthasie now rises at 7:00, after a full night’s sleep, to work alongside her husband in the field. She has returned to her dream of building a life free of fatigue and water-born diseases.

I know you care about women and water—there are hundreds of households like Anasthasie and Makorovera’s in Africa. We simply want to make sure they all have access to water every day of the year.

The world continues to deal with hundreds of millions of people who have no access to clean water. We know our friends in DRC and South Sudan cannot solve their water problems alone. They need our help, at least for now. We are stronger together.

Your gift today will provide crucial funds for our work to continue into 2021. Solving water problems together, every week means these communities will NEVER be the same.

Because of COVID, our giving this year has taken a severe hit. We need to end the year strong to accomplish all we have before us.

Anasthasie and mothers like her need clean water. Period. And you can help them get it.

As you consider your giving plans for the year-end, I hope you will make this project part of your giving. Your generous gift will give peace of mind to people like Anasthasie and Makorovera, who simply want to live. You can give them one less thing to worry about.

Can women like Anasthasie count on your gift today? Thanks in advance for your contribution.

With gratitude,

Stephen R Roese, President
